Shutter card

What do you think of this shutter card?

While wondering through facebook memories this morning I came across a shutter card I made a few years ago and remembered how much I liked it. I had to youtube how to make it again and found loads of people doing demo, so it’s hard who to credit it too. I didn’t directly follow any one tutorial as I wanted to make it my own size, I just followed the technique.

The coffee cup and sentiment on the front are from the Coffee Cafe stamp set and dies. Don’t you think the little coffee beans are cute? Although the Designer Series Paper I have used on this card has now retired there is plenty of others that would work just as well on a card like this.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year in October?

Today is the start of the Stampinup new year and I have been in creative mood today. This creatively could be as it is World Card making Day. So celebrate by making some Happy New Year Cards of your own.

At last months retreat I joined loads of my Stampinup family and together we crafted. One of the make and takes from Sam Hammond was a card demonstrating a technique using Sliver Glimmer Paper under Window Sheets, coloured in with Blends.

I thought the effect was really pretty and the glimmer paper hides the adhesive too. So today I have been experimenting with this technique using different stamps and dies and Blends.

The first card is Serene Garden stamp set and matching dies.

The second card is Lift Me up stamp set and dies.

The third card is Dragonfly Delights stamp set and dies.

I have to say I really love this technique, It is one that I will use a lot.

Stay Crafty

Thomas Train Easel Card

A friend of mine was asked to make a card for a 3 year old who loves Thomas the Tank Engine, who doesn’t! As I have said before I am not the most creative of people so I popped on to pintrest and youtube to seek inspiration. Patsy Waggoner had a great video and blog with just want I was looking for click here for her video. I play with Punch Art from time to time and pleased that I had the punches I needed.

Word window punch (retired)

Owl Builder Punch
1/2 inch circle punch
Project life corner punch
Sprinkle of life stamp set

Most of the papers where scraps, always a bonus

Congratulations card

Flowering Flourishes

Congratulations to my friend at work who has a new job (yes another one). Loving this crafty afternoon making this congratulations card for her. A fellow crafter posted a triple stamped card, so of course I had to give it a go and this is what I came up with.

I made this card using the following stamps and colours

Flowering Flourishes stamps Click here to buy this item

Perfect Pairing stamps Click here to buy this item

The inks and card stock I used are Blackberry Bliss and Tangelo twist which are both retiring at the end of May so may not still be available, but I think it would still look great with different colours.

Tip Top Taupe ink is still available Click here to buy this item

As for the technique for how to do this, you tube triple stamping.

Thanks for reading

Celebrate today stamp set

Celebrate Today

A friend of mine got a new job yesterday and I am going to miss her support at work, so of course I had to make her a card to congratulate her. I am not naturally a creative person so find inspiration from other stampin’ up demonstrators, I love that they all share projects. On Sam Johnson’s blog I saw a sketch she had used and decided to start with that.

I have used the Suite Sayings stamps as they are the ones I have just bought, stamps for all occasions. I was going to put flowers around the balloon, but that just wouldn’t have worked and then I remembered that the Sprinkles of Life set had a stamp that looks like clouds so with a sprinkle of glitter embossing I felt the clouds were perfect.

So a list of Items used and link to buying them.
